Banned Books Week Exhibit
Please stop by a new exhibit on the second floor for Banned Books Week 2013, September 22-28.
An annual event celebrating the freedom to read, Banned Books Week highlights the value of free and open access to information bringing together the entire book community –- librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types –- in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
This year's exhibit, a collaboration between Randall Library and the Dept. of English, features the work of Dr. Michelle Manning's ENG382 students, Ways of Teaching Literature. Frequently challenged or banned books from our collection are also on display and available for checkout.
The Banned Books Week exhibit is located on the second floor of Randall Library near Government Documents. Exhibits like this are made possible by Randall Library's Programming & Exhibits Team, supporting the library's mission by organizing and executing events that support the scholarship and artistic activities of the UNCW community.
