Did you know that Gone With The Wind caused quite a stir when it was published in 1936 or that some parents accused the Harry Potter series of promoting witchcraft among American children?

Celebrate the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment with a new display in the Sherman Hayes Gallery on the first floor of Randall Library.  The exhibit spotlights books that were banned or challenged in the United States over the past three decades.

Last year Randall Library began a conversation about the Future of the Book and this exhibit, as  well as upcoming lectures, panel discussions, and film screenings, continues to explore censorship in America and the importance of libraries in the 21st century and beyond.
