Student searches the card catalog [ca. 1970s]. Randall Library staff stopped filing cards in the card catalog in January 1988, and by 1990, it was no longer in the building, having been replaced by an online catalog.

Correspondence, photographs, slides, brochures, annual reports .... these are all examples of the types of materials you may find in UNCW Archives and Randall Library Special Collections. To help a patron know whether a collection will be useful to his/her research, archivists describe collections (also known as "record groups") in finding aids, which may include box inventories, folder inventories, summaries, and more information. Unlike materials found in other parts of the library, the materials in Special Collections and Archives must be stored in archival boxes and folders.

General Inventory for all Record Groups

The General Inventory lists the contents of boxes, and of the folders within boxes, in UNCW Archives. Note: The General Inventory is very long, and it takes a VERY long time to open it if you have a slow connection. Please refer to the finding aids for individual record groups listed below if you have a slow connection, or contact UNCW Archives at 962-3798.
