- All of the materials in this collection were transferred to UNCW Archives from WLOZ in the spring of 2001, except for the report from the Ad hoc WLOZ Advisory Committee (1980), which was in UNCW Archives prior to processing this collection, having been obtained by UNCW Archives at an earlier date (provenance unknown).

Historical Note
WLOZ was the student radio station at UNCW. It began as a 10-watt educational radio station in 1973. Funds from the Student Government Assocation were used to purchase equipment and provide for the station's operation.
WLOZ ceased operation in Spring, 2001. At this time, Bill DiNome was the student media coordinator at UNCW.
Scope and Content
This collection covers the date range 1980-2001, with the bulk of materials from 1999-2001. Included are public service announcement, station rules and guidelines, flyers and other printed material. There is also a file from a faculty committee, the Ad hoc WLOZ Advisory Committee (1980).
