Visiting Special Collections and Using Materials Researchers may visit Special Collections during regularly scheduled hours of operation (Monday through Thursday, 9:00am - 5:00pm and Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm .) However, to facilitate your needs, we suggest that you make an appointment to use the resources of the Special Collections. Appointments may be made by contacting either the Special Collections Librarian [910-962-3276] or the Special Collections Assistant [910-962-7462]. The primary concern of Randall Library Special Collections is to preserve and protect the manuscripts, books, documents and other material located in Special Collections and to make those items available in the Special Collections Reading Room to those who visit Reading Room. SPECIAL COLLECTIONS IS NEITHER AUTHORIZED NOR STAFFED TO ENGAGE IN GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH. Research via Mail, Email and Telephone Special Collections is under no obligation to provide services to those researchers who are unable to personally visit the collections. Due to budgetary and staffing constraints it is virtually impossible to handle all mail, email and telephone requests. We suggest the researcher visit Randall Library Special Collections in order to expedite their research needs. Also due to the fragile nature of most of the items, Randall Library Special Collections, under its photocopying and reproduction of material policy, is unable to fulfill requests for photocopies of materials. |
