FRAMEWORKS:
Visual Narratives of Wilmington
and the Surrounding Landscape

Landscape art offers one artist’s viewpoint of place. Viewing an artist’s work offers a glimpse into how they understand the world.
Local artists’ works about the Wilmington area offer a variety of perspectives on the surrounding landscapes. When displayed together a story of Wilmington appears. This narrative focuses on five chapters which include downtown Wilmington, local landmarks, the surrounding beaches, UNC Wilmington and religious institutions.
These ‘framed works’ are complied from the Randall Library Art Collections, Randall Library Special Collections and University Archives. If you enjoy what you see in this exhibit you can locate additional art in Randall Library by searching the library catalog. You can search by artist name or search by the subjects Randall Library Original Art or Randall Library Art Reproductions. An online Art Tour can be found at http://coast2.lib.uncwil.edu/arttour/tourpage.html.
As you walk around the library enjoy additional art on most walls.
