C. A. BROWN LUMBER COMPANY
C.A. Brown Lumber Company was incorporated in 1948 in Ivanhoe, NC. The company specialized in wholesale and retail lumber sales through the purchase and lease of land for cutting and harvesting timber. The timber was then transported to the mill and cut for lumber sales. The company did business throughout the southeastern NC area and at the time of dissolution in 1974 owned approximately 4400 acres of land in Duplin, Bladen, Pender and Sampson Counties. All land and equipment was subsequently sold to Federal Paperboard Company. Included in this collection are company records, correspondence and Timber Deeds and Timber Cutting Agreements.
This collection was donated to Randall Library by Mr. Luther Brown in 2007. There are no access restrictions to this collection.
