Since this Collection is specialized, some of the items use call numbers that are unique. The call number of an item indicates its location in the CMC as well as other important information about the source. Textbooks are classified using the Textbook Classification Scheme devised by the U.S. Department of Education. When visiting the Center, you will find this scheme posted throughout the stacks. The first line of the call number assigns the book a place among other books on the same subject. The second line indicates the publisher and grade level. The third line tells the year of publication. When browsing for a teacher's edition, one would find a T.E. denoted on the fourth line of the call number.
