Course Related Instruction - Sign up now!

The core of Randall Library's Instructional Services Program is the course-related sessions, prepared and presented by a librarian using the instructor's specific library-related assignment. Sessions are typically held in Randall Library but can also be held in the instructor's classroom.

Consider arranging a library instruction session if you have a specific assignment that requires library resources. The sessions work best if the assignment is handed out to students prior to the library session. Their awareness of the specific library requirements guarantees their motivation for the session. We are also able to give general orientations to the library and our resources for your class.

Workshops - Workshop Schedule

Randall Library offers workshops throughout the spring and fall semesters that are open to all UNCW students, faculty, and staff. Some workshops are also open to community members. Topics include: advanced database searching, plagiarism detection and prevention, citation styles, UNCW's history, utilizing RSS, advanced searching in Google, using bibliographic management software, etc. Typically there is no need to pre-register (unless noted in the schedule). Workshops are held in Randall Library.

Ten Minute Instruction Sessions - Sign up now!

During the "10 minute session" a librarian will stop by your classroom and introduce students to some of the resources available through Randall Library.  The librarian will present a guide of resources to the students and invite them to attend a subject specific workshop or to seek individual assistance through one of our many research assistance programs.

LIB 101 and LIB 103 - Register now!

Randall Library currently offers 2 for-credit courses. LIB 101 is a 1 credit hour course and LIB 103 is a 3 credit hour course. More Information

Instruction for Visiting Middle or High School Students or Community College Students

If you would like your students to have a tour or instruction session at Randall Library, please contact Anne Pemberton (pembertona@uncw.edu or 910- 962-7810). We are happy to show students from other schools how to use our resources!
