Description 
Announcing negro recruit training in progress. First group of negros ever to enlist in the Marine Corps, comprising the 51st Composite Defense Battalion. Training of troops is handled by white members of the Marine Corps. Recruits displaying keen aptitude and intelligence. Educational standards are unusually high. Three men are college graduates, many have completed two or more years of college, and the majority are high school graduates.
