Randall Library strives to assist the UNCW community by providing dynamic information resources and services. This page lists many of the services provided by the faculty and staff of Randall Library.

Computers
Students have access to computers near the Reference Desk to access the Internet or use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. There is an additional computer lab for students operated by ITSD at the back of the library's first floor. Two computer labs for graduate students are provided on the second floor. Laptops are available for students to check out from the Customer Services Desk. Students can also register their own laptops to use the campus wireless network in the library. The general public can register at the Customer Service Desk for free (time limited) computer access to the Internet and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Curriculum Materials Center
The Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) is Randall Library's only branch. Locaed in the Education Building, its purpose is to serve as a resource center for students enrolled in the teacher education program and for teachers in the surrounding area. The CMC provides Pre-K-12 textbooks, kits, lesson plans, big books, software and other teaching materials.

Department Liaisons (Primary Contact Librarians)
Primay Contact Librarians are speicalize in providing assistance for faculty and students in their assigned departments.  The librarians will assist with questions about materials and resources, and may act as advisors on questions of library procedures, as well as being available to provide research assistance to their departments.

Disability Services
Parking, access ramps, and elevators are available for persons with disabilities. Adjustable study carrels are located on both floors. Library computer system terminals near the Reference Desk are wheelchair-accessible. PCs equipped with assistive technology are provided near the Reference Desk and in the Assistive Technology Room (RL 1041) located on the first floor. The Assistive Technology Room also provides a text magnifier. If special assistance is required, please ask at the Reference Desk.

Document Delivery
Document Delivery is a service through which UNCW extension students and UNCW faculty can request books and photocopies of articles from journals held in the Randall Library. Photocopies of articles will be mailed to extension students and faculty members at the address indicated on the registration form with UNCW ILLiad. Books will be checked out and delivered to faculty campus addresses and to UNCW extension student home addresses.  Extension students will receive a postage paid return mailing label for returning items to the Randall Library.

Government Resources
Randall Library is a selective depository library for the U.S. Government Printing Office and a full depository for North Carolina documents. The collection is located on the second floor. Assistance is available from the Documents Office near the collection, or from the Reference Desk on the first floor.

Laptops
ITSD laptops can be checked out for four-hours periods at the Circulation Desk for use within the building.

Phone
A courtesy phone and a pay phone are available in the lobby of the library.

Photocopiers
Photocopiers are available on both floors. The main copy room is located on the first floor, near the ITSD Undergraduate Computer Lab. A coin-operated machine ($.15/page) is located near the Customer Services Desk. This location also provides a copier for departmental copy cards. Copies are $.10 each with a UNCW OneCard or $.15 each using the coin operated machine near the Customer Services Desk. Microform copiers are located in the first floor. The Microform machines use only dimes.

Printing
Use your UNCW OneCard and the iPrint service to print from the library PCs, or your personal laptop. Guests can purchase a printing card from the Value Transfer Station near the Customer Service Desk.

Quiet Study
Looking for an absolutely quiet space to study? The Quiet Study Room is located on the second floor, next door to the Graduate Computer Lab.

Study Rooms
Small group study rooms are located on both floors. Study rooms on the first floor may be reserved. Groups needing to use the rooms are given preference to individual use.

UNCW OneCard
Deposits may be made on your UNSea card at the Value Transfer Station, located at the entrance.

Video Cameras
Students can check out digital video cameras to make class presentations at the Customer Service Desk.
