Public Anthropology
A scholarly website devoted to the application of anthropology as a means to foster social change. "Public Anthropology seeks to bring social transformation through engagement with public problems in public ways. It emphasizes the anthropologist's role as an engaged intellectual, as someone who actively addresses central issues of our time." The site provides information about books and journals, as well as an archive of anthropology journals.

WWW Virtual Library--Anthropology
A directory of websites related to anthropology arranged by subject, including applied, cultural, biological and linguistic anthropology, archaeology, conferences, and links to other educational and and research sites.

Archaeology

Ancient Mesoamerican Civilizations Includes history and archeaology of Aztec, Maya, Mixtec, and Zapotec cultures. This site was on Choice Magazine's Outstanding Titles list for 1999.

Archaeology Magazine
A publication of the Archaeological Institute of America. Provides feature articles, news, interviews and reviews, as well as an "Interactive Digs" section.

ArchNet: WWW Virtual Library--Archaeology
Provides access to a wide range of archaeological resources available on the Internet. Information is categorized by geographic region and subject. Also available in Catalan, Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish. From the Archaeological Research Institute at Arizona State University.

National Archaeological Database
An electronic communications network for the archeological and historic preservation community provided by the National Park Service.

Texas A&M Conservation Handbook
A laboratory manual created for a conservation class at Texas A&M. "The emphasis of the course is on the conservation of material from underwater sites, especially marine sites, but the conservation of material from terrestrial sites is also discussed." --from the Introduction
