hard copy by the Federal Research Division
of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program
sponsored by the U.S. Department of Army. Because the original intent of the
Series' sponsor was to focus primarily on lesser known areas of the world or
regions in which U.S. forces might be deployed, the series is not all-inclusive.
At present, 102 countries and regions are covered. Notable omissions include
Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and other Western nations, as well as a
number of African nations. The date of information for each country appears on
the title page of each country and at the end of each section of text.

Catalog using Title Search for "OECD Economic Surveys" for call
numbers for specific countries
Some tables give data for a span of years (1980's to date). Countries' policies
are assessed regularly in the Economic
Surveys for OECD and selected non-member countries. The focus is on the
macroeconomic and structural policies that could boost economic performance on a
sustainable basis. In-depth chapters on specific issues are also included.
Recent Surveys have considered labour
market policies, taxation
systems, environmental
policies and the challenges linked to ageing
populations. Particular attention is devoted to the interactions between the
various policy fields. The in-depth chapters are common across the Economic
Surveys, thus providing a comparative framework.
