AV with Accompanynig Material


 

Location, Item Type and Call Number

The Item location for accompanying material to A/V resources is wao A/V Oversize unless the accompanying piece is small enough to be stored on the shelf with the video, cd, or other item it accompanies. If the accompanying piece can be stored with the primary piece then the location is the same as the main piece.
Item type is 5
Call number is the same as the main piece with an appropriate designator at the end of the call number
(Guide, Transcript, Workbook...)
The call number should be typed as follows

A/V
Oversize
(or VC or CD or VD or Kit...)
Call
Number
(Guide or Transcript or Workbook or...)


In III the item will display like this:

A/V Oversize Call Number Available

The specific location CD, VC, Kit will not display, this is correct.

Bibliographic locations are w and wa

The 949 1 for the accompanying piece should follow this model:
949 1 #### |l wao (usually) |t 5 |z 090 |i |c Guide or Transcript or....

Message

There needs to be a message on the MAIN item about the accompanying piece.
For example:
Accompanying guide shelved in A/V Oversize.

Do this when you are in Catme.
949 1 ### |l wav |t 5 |z 090 |i |m Accompanying guide shelved in A/V Oversize

There should also be a note on the physical container for the MAIN item about the accompanying piece.
The accompanying piece does not get any special notes.
