James Metsch joined the US Army in 1941 and shipped directly to England and Omaha Beach. He states that they landed D plus 6. Of his experience during the war he remembers feeling as though he had an angel on his side protecting him because he avoided so much injury and trouble. He speaks of the camaraderie between soldiers and how strong it grew during the War.
