Wesley Carl Batten was born on May 7, 1925 and served in the US Army during WWII. His initial boot camp training was at Fort McClellan, Alabama. He served with the 66th Infantry, Panther Division and later with the 264th Infantry. Batten served at Southampton, England and Cherbourg and Lorient in France.
