Boyce Barbee was drafted on July 24, 1942 and entered the US Air Force on August 7, 1942. Some of his duty stations were: Scott's Field, Illinois, Harlingen, Texas, and Tucson, Arizona. His duties included Radio Operator and B24 Gunner. He saw action during the early raids over Germany. He visited the cities of Norfolk, Norwich, and London while stationed in Europe during WWII. While in Europe he met and married his wife Ann, who was then serving in the Royal British Air Force.
