Individual foundations and associations often offer funding opportunities, but they can be challenging to locate. The New Hanover County Public Library provides access to several foundation directories, but you need to be in the building to use them. Below are a few other options. Also, remember that membership organizations, such as academic associations, often offer funding opportunities on their websites.

Federal Government Opportunities
A link to a central funding search is posted below, but you will probably also want to regularly check on the websites of federal agencies that are of greatest relevance to your research. I am listing several of the largest below. You can check USA.gov for an alphabetical listing of federal agencies to find others.
Grants.gov is a mechanism that allows you to search across federal government agencies for funding opportunities.
