This unpublished political statement by James E.L. Wade in May, 1967 to the New Hanover County Women League of Voters covers a wide spectrum of programs he was involved with on both a local level and as a member of the General Assembly of North Carolina. Mr. Wade outlines his vision for the future of a greater Wilmington, covering improvements in all major areas from roads to parks and waterfront re-development, a convention center, preservation, recreation, city drainage, a bridge over the Cape Fear River, and the revitalization of Downtown. His involvement with the city's Greenfield Lake project is especially highlighted. Also included are his North Carolina State Senate card from when he was sworn in, and an autographed card given by Mr. Wade's wife.
