Below are some potential places to look as you do your research for this class. In the lefthand column are some journals that you can browse to find articles. They might be a good place to start your research if you are trying to narrow down a topic. Below that are citation guides to APA and ASA format. In the center are some article databases in sociology, psychology, health and medicine, and social work. If you are struggling to decide if an article you've chosen is a scholarly source, feel free to view the tutorial at the bottom of the middle column.

Social Services Abstracts
This database provides bibliographic coverage of current research focused on social work, human services and related areas, including social welfare, social policy and community development. The database abstracts and indexes thousands of serials publications and includes abstracts of journal articles and dissertations and citations to book reviews.

APA PsycINFO
This database is the American Psychological Association (APA)'s renowned resource for abstracts of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books and dissertations. PsycINFO is the largest resource devoted to peer-reviewed literature in behavioral science and mental health, with ninety-nine percent of the covered material peer-reviewed.
