  • Data Planet: Navigating a Data Database

    Data Planet a sage publishing resource navigating a data database Sept 7 1 to 2 pm

    Data Planet is a Randall Library subscribed database for over 70 government and private data sources, covering 16 subject areas (https://library.uncw.edu/eresources/data_planet_statistical_datasets). This workshop will provide an introduction to how to navigate within this powerful data platform, as well as generally gain skills for finding data to meet your research needs.   • Data Analysis Help Fall 2022

    Data Analysis Help Fall 2022: drop in hours and virtual consultations available

    Randall Library is now providing drop-in consultation hours for research data analysis in SPSS, R, and Excel. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to stop in, unannounced, for help with a coding problem, determining how to incorporate the tool into a new research project, or for basic navigation of the tools.

    Fall 2022 Drop-in Hours:  (Drop in hours will occur 8/30/2022 - 12/15/2022 for fall semester.)

    •  Tuesdays from 1pm - 5pm
    •  Thursdays from 1pm - 5pm
    •  Fridays from 12pm - 2pm

    It is available in-person (in library room 1023H, which is in front of the Makerspace) and over Zoom (https://uncw.zoom.us/my/uncwDataAnalysis)

    If you're not available during these times, you may email our Data Analysis graduate student Hawken Hass (hvh1489 [at] uncw.edu) with details about the background and problems you are facing with your code (screenshots or code files could be helpful reference as well). During the next available drop-in hours, she will look into the issues and get back to you by email.

  • Service Disruption Randall Library Catalog August 17

    Library catalog service disruption on August 17th

    ​The Library Catalog will be undergoing maintenance on Wednesday, August 17th and will be unavailable for the duration of the day. Please contact the library at: https://library.uncw.edu/contact if you need assistance finding or accessing  materials.

  • Library Closure Friday August 12th

    Library Closed on Friday August 12th at 12pm

    Due to UNCW network maintenance activities, the library will close at 12:00pm on Friday, August 12th. The library website, the library catalog, the interlibrary loan system (iLLiad) and other library applications may be unavailable from Friday at noon throught the evening. Intermittent availability may affect library systems through Monday at 8:00am.
