In honor of NC Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green's UNCW visit, Randall Library will be displaying books authored by Green from our collection along with past works of previous NC Poet Laureates. The display is located on the first floor of Randall Library.

Green will be giving a presentation at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 in the Cultural Arts Building Mainstage Theatre, Room 1069 as part of the Dean’s Lecture Series in the Humanities. She will discuss “The Poet as Documentarian, Historian and Agitator.” Free and open to all. 

Green's work includes Dead on Arrival, Dead on Arrival and New Poems, Masks, Conjure Blues, singing a tree into dance, breath of the song, Blue Opal, a play. Feeding the Light and i want to undie you (both published by Jacar Press). She is the co-editor of two anthologies: Poets for Peace, Immigration Emigration and Diversity published by Chapel Hill Press, Inc. and currently serves as editor for the Jacar Press New Voices Series.
