Randall Library’s latest first floor exhibit, located by our New & Featured Collection, is designed to coincide with the American Library Association’s annual Banned Books Week (September 27-October 3) and highlights titles that have been banned or challenged in the U.S.
Many of these books were specifically chosen by UNCW English students, and are displayed along with their thoughts on why a particular title is, or was, banned or challenged.
Books featured in the exhibit are available to checkout from the circulation desk.
You can also join the UNCW English Department, your Student Government Association, Old Books on Front Street, and others for a READ OUT in the University Commons Amphitheater* in front of the Fisher Student Center on Wednesday, September 30, from 3-5 PM. Books will be available, and you can sign up to read from your favorite banned or challenged work of fiction or nonfiction.
