Shooting the Curl  - Panel Discussion
50 Years of Surf Photography in Southeastern North Carolina
Fifty years ago, Southeastern North Carolina’s modern era of surfing began on the peripheries of local beach culture.  Since then, surfing has evolved into a complex sport and lifestyle, enticing a growing number of individuals each year to pick up a board and hit the waves.  Throughout this time, UNCW has remained an increasingly popular destination for students seeking to further their education while having access to a quality surfing environment.  This exhibit highlights the golden anniversary of surfing in our region through the photography and experiences of UNCW students and alumni.

Please join us in the Randall Library Auditorium on October 22, 2014 at 6pm for a panel discussion and reception. Moderating the discussion is Cody Leutgens, founder of Surf City Surf School, editor at large of Local Sessions  and UNCW alum. Panelists include Chris McQuiston, publisher of Local Sessions and current UNCW students and photographers, Andy Conner, Chandler Hatch, and Jake Zlotnick. Refreshments will be provided by local restaurant Tower 7.
