Somos NC: Voices from North Carolina’s Latinx Community

This exhibition contains oral histories collected by students in Dr. Amanda Boomershine's SPN 490: Service learning and research class (since Fall 2015).  The students interviewed first and second-generation Latinx North Carolinians on a variety of topics including language, culture, immigration, and education.  To view a version of this exhibit is located in the Sundial Gallery, Randall Library, 2nd floor.  To listen to their stories, click here. Most interviews were conducted in Spanish.

A collaboration with Department of World Languages and Cultures, Centro Hispano, and Center for Southeast North Carolina Archives and History at Randall Library.

In conjunction with this exhibit, we would like to invite you to participate in the following Latinx events and activities as we celebrate and bring awareness to Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM).
