Thirsty Tome is an annual event in the fall semester that celebrates writing and writers at UNCW. This year’s theme is ‘Food for Thought.’ The main reading event will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Sherman Hayes Gallery on the first floor of the library and we will be having Jason Frye and Sayantani Dasgupta as the main readers, and several MFA students from Creative Writing will also participate. Pomegranate Books will have a book signing and the authors’ books for sale. Food will be donated by UNCW BFA alum Cody Leutgens of Surf City’s Shaka Taco.
In addition, there is a FREE Food Writing Workshop the next day with Sayantani Dasgupta and Jason Frye. Registration is limited so sign up now! Thursday, November 21 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Pomegranate Books located at 4418 Park Avenue. Register online here

In conjunction with Thirsty Tome, Randall Library will be hosting a food drive called, NO HAWK LEFT UNFED! Support our Hawks by dropping off non-perishable food items to Randall Library through the month of November. All donations will be given to Hawk’s Harvest to help our students who are in need. We are accepting all donations, but protein bars, cereal, ready to eat soup, corn/flour tortillas, 1lb. coffee, and jelly are encouraged. Donation box located to the right upon entering PCJ.
