Transgender Day of Visibility Read-In

Transgender Day of Visibility Read-In on March 31st at 1pm

International Day of Trans Visibility, falling on March 31st, is an annual event celebrating and highlighting the lives and experiences of trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people throughout the world.

This March 31st at 1:00 PM, Randall Library, the LGBTQIA+ Office, and the Gender Studies Research Center are hosting a read-in, where trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming folks can read passages from works that have been meaningful to them, including from their own writing. As the day's focus is on prioritizing and highlighting the voices of trans people, we invite cisgender allies to attend and listen.

If you would like to participate as a reader, please fill out the following form: https://lib.uncw.edu/trans-read-in_signup

We'll reach out to you closer to the event with a confirmation, to get you a specific time slot for reading during the event, and to answer any questions--but please don't hesitate to reach out to Eva Sclippa at sclippae [at] uncw.edu with event questions in the meantime!
