The Visual Art Community of Wilmington & Southeastern NC: A Digital Exhibit

the images : additional Art Work in Public Spaces in the Wilmington, NC Area

There is even more visual art that is beyond the scope of this project.

  1. The area is rich in architectural detail that is really a form of visual art.
  2. Many churches and synagogues have religious art, artifacts and stained glass windows.
  3. There are many businesses that support art by featuring art as well as commissioning sculptures, murals and designs for their establishments.
  4. Many individuals have art, particularly fountains and sculpture in visible site in their yards and gardens. An example is the fountain at the Latimer House.
  5. There is a wealth of visual art, statuary and relief work in particular, found in the many cemeteries in this region.

We are sure we have missed many important works but we decided to proceed with what we have. If you know of other works in public spaces in the Wilmington area please let us know and we will add them to this list.
