The MakerStudio has 3 Singer M2100 Sewing Machines and a Brother PE800 Embroidery machine. Additionally, the MakerStudio offers a Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Joy, A Cricut Easy Press 2, and a Heat Press.

Users are asked to bring their own materials for projects.

To access this equipment, enroll in the MakerStudio Training course. Users will need to take the General Safety Prerequisite training before accessing the Sewing or Cricut trainings.

Textile Service Guidelines

All Sticker (.gif, .svg) and Mug (.svg, .png) requests must be submitted with the appropriate file type. Other file types will be returned for correction.

Please allow up to 7 days (M-F) for job completion of requests.
All print requests are processed in the order they are received. We cannot guarantee specific delivery times.
If the item is not picked up in 14 business days (upon completion) it will become property of UNCW Library and will be recycled.
Cost of request is subject to material being used (see table below). Payment is due before service will commence. Once paid for and then created you will be notified by email that it is ready for pickup.
Requests can be picked up in Discovery Hall Rm. 1065 (MakerSpace).
To ensure the project matches your expectations ahead of time, we will require a consultation to review your request and adjust as necessary.
All UNCW computer, network and Copyright policies apply to the use of the circuit machine and software.
You may not use this service to create material that is:
- Prohibited by local, state, or federal law.
- Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the University environment.
- In violation of another’s intellectual property rights, including to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent, or trademark protection. It is the responsibility of the user to verify the eligibility of the item to be printed.
- Mass production of items beyond prototyping.
We reserve the right to refuse any request for any reason.
UNCW takes no responsibility for the end-use of an object once that object is printed.

Mugs

You will be charged $6 per mug requested

Vinyl

Decal vinyl cost will be .50 per 1/2 ft sheet
Iron-On vinyl (heat transfer) will be .75 per 1/2 ft. sheet
*all sheet are 12 inches

Stickers

$1.80 per sheet
