UNCW Fashion Week is April 6-11th, 2026

Across campus, we celebrate the art, history, culture, connection, and craftsmanship through wearable expression! UNCW Fashion Week is a collaboration of departments, student organizations, and individuals.

The Lobby of the Cultural Arts Building is featuring a special display celebrating fashion through theatrical costume. All pieces were designed by Professor Mark D Sorensen and created by our Costume Theatre students, showcasing their creativity, craftsmanship, and attention to visual storytelling.

We invite you to stop by and explore how Plays, Musicals, and Opera inspire a vibrant range of designs. The display will be available from March 30 through April 10.  Presented by the Department of Theatre.

Every year, students, staff and faculty decorate t-shirts with messages meant to show our support for survivors of interpersonal violence, spread awareness, and help reduce violence in our community. These shirts are displayed on our clothesline campaign on the Clocktower lawn from 4/6-4/21.

Explore Fashion: Traditional Clothing from AsiaDrop-In Social, Photo boothThe Asian Heritage Cultural Center will host a memorable photo booth experience, allowing guests to try on traditional attire from Korea, Mongolia, and Vietnam. Asian snacks and traditional games will also be provided during this event.
Thursday April 9th2:00-3:30PMUpperman African American Cultural Center (FUU 2021)48 Hour Black History Fashion Competition FinaleCompetiton, ShowcaseThe epic gowns and glory finale for the 48 Hour Black History Fashion Competition has arrived!  Students have had 48 hours to create a fashion piece inspired by the prompt assigned on Tuesday.  Creations will be shown off and winners will be announced at this thrilling conclusion.  Presented by the Upperman African American Cultural Center.
