UNCW Library and the Technology Assistance Center (TAC) provide a variety of resources to support your technology needs!

COMPUTERS AND LAPTOPS
  • UNCW Library has computers available to UNCW students, faculty, and staff located in Randall Hall on the first and second floors and in Discovery Hall on the first and third floors. Most computers are Windows desktops with Windows 10.
  • There are iMac (MacOS) computers available in Discovery Hall on the first and third floors.
  • There are computers with attached flatbed or feed scanners in Discovery Hall on the first floor.
  • The Graduate Lounge on the second floor of Randall Hall has computers for graduate student use.
  • There are 10 computers with connected webcams that can be used for test-taking or other activities that require a webcam. Four computers are located on the first floor of Randall Hall (computers B3, B4, E1, E2) and six are located on the first floor of Discovery Hall (computers BB4, BB6, CC3, CC5, DD3, DD6).
  • We also offer workstations with a laptop dock and single or dual monitors to allow users to connect their own device.
  • There are four guest computers for non-UNCW affiliated guests in Randall Hall on the first floor.
  • UNCW users can borrow Windows laptops from TAC (Technology Assistance Center) located in Randall Hall on the first floor. Please note: TAC no longer loans MacBooks.
SPECIALTY COMPUTING

All specialty computers are in Discovery Hall on the first floor and include:

  • GIS computers with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Data computers with NVivo, which is used for evaluation of qualitative research.
  • Bloomberg computers for students who need to work with market, investment, and proprietary information/data.
GROUP COLLABORATION
PRINTING, COPYING, SCANNING
  • Printing, scanning and copying available via iPrint.
  • Designated quick print and quick scan stations on the first floor in Randall Hall and Discovery Hall.
MAKERSTUDIO
  • Virtual reality, 3D printing, 3D scanning, 360 cameras and more.

  • Microfilm machine located on the first floor of Randall Hall.
