Hiring Announcement! (Statistical Consultant position opened 4/2/25, closes 8/11/25)
The Statistical Collaboration and Training Center (SCTC) at UNCW is hiring! The SCTC is a joint service center led by the UNCW Library and the College of Science and Engineering that offers a suite of services around supporting data analysis among researchers and students at UNCW. As part of this process, the SCTC is seeking to hire 1 graduate student starting in the Summer 2025 (May-June-July) and at least 1 student (undergraduate or graduate) starting in the Fall 2025 semester. These student consultant positions will provide in-person and virtual drop-in consultation hours for researchers at UNCW wanting help with data analysis. If time permits, the student could develop asynchronous guidance materials or deliver live workshops on the use of statistical analysis with appropriate software applications (e.g. R and/or SPSS). Depending on availability (very likely especially during the summer), the student may be paired with courses or faculty researchers in need of analysis support.

The SCTC is pleased to announce a collaborative research article published April 2024 in the journal Sports Medicine and Health Science. The paper, titled "Evaluating a 14-Week Neck Strengthening Protocol for Neuromuscular Indicators Associated with Head and Neck Trauma", is co-authored with Drs. Schroeder, and McDaniel from CHHS, and two undergraduate students at UNCW. Congratulations to the research team on this significant achievement!
Statistical Collaboration and Training Center (SCTC) Open House
We are pleased to announce the official opening of the Statistical Collaboration and Training Center (SCTC) at UNCW. Supported by the College of Science and Engineering and UNCW Library, the SCTC is dedicated to promoting excellence in statistical analysis, advancing innovative quantitative research, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. The Center provides consultation services and hands-on training in statistics and statistical computation, all at no cost to UNCW students and faculty.
